World Book Day

This year saw the 25th anniversary of World Book Day. This year the message to all is  “You are a reader.”

Every child was asked to create a book character at home which were brought into school and celebrated. The School's PTFA kindly donated money for the Literacy lead to buy each class a book. the books were kept secret and presented to each class in assembly. The classes were not allowed to open their books until they had opened their clues and the classes had to be reading detectives trying to solve the clues about their books.
The rest of the day the children read the books and produced amazing work.

Year 6 also organised a book sale to raise even more money to purchase more books. Well done year 6.

This year's World Book Day saw the launched of our Reading Dogs. We have a class set of reading dogs who will come home with children to be read to.
