Acer Class - Year 5

Y5 bubble participating in a Tokyo enrichment day.
First day back.  All settled in our new classroom .
Take a look at our learning.
English- Mrs Golledge reads to us every day. She read to us in wet play! We loved it.
For term 2 we read Anglo Saxon Boy and produced some excellent writing based on the book.
Term 3 we are reading the Highway man! This is Alfred Noyes's thrilling poem, charged with drama and tension, we ride with the highwayman and recoil from the terrible fate that befalls him and his sweetheart Bess, the landlord's daughter.
Term 4 we will be focussing on The book The Man Who Walked Between the Towers.
Term 5's book is Clockwork by Philip Pullman. 'Tick, tick, tick, tock. Once you've wound some things up nothing can stop them . . .'
Term 6, Year 5 are reading the London Eye Mystery.
"When Ted and Kat watched their cousin Salim get on board the London Eye, he turned and waved before getting on. After half an hour it landed and everyone trooped off - but no Salim. Where could he have gone? How on earth could he have disappeared into thin air?
Since the police are having no luck finding him, Ted and Kat become sleuthing partners. Despite their prickly relationship, they overcome their differences to follow a trail of clues across London in a desperate bid to find their cousin. And ultimately it comes down to Ted, whose brain works in its own very unique way, to find the key to the mystery.

This is an unputdownable spine-tingling thriller!"
Using manipulatives to create arrays and being a teacher. We can learn from each other.
