Welcome to Year 5!

In Acer class, our class teacher is Mrs Golledge.

In Ash class, our class teacher is Miss Anderson.

Our PPA Cover is Mrs Hume.

Our learning support workers are Mrs Howard and Mr Innoles.

Mrs Macleod is our Intervention Teacher.

In Year 5, we are excited to continue our learning journey and explore new challenges together. This year is all about building confidence, developing independence, and deepening our understanding across all subjects.

Our classrooms are places where curiosity is encouraged, creativity is celebrated, and every child is supported to achieve their best. Our goal is to create a positive, welcoming environment where everyone feels valued and inspired to learn. 

This year at a glance

We have an exciting range of topics planned for the year:

• History: The fascinating world of the Anglo-Saxons and the incredible civilisation of the Maya.
• Science: Exploring the wonders of our Solar System and learning about space.
• Geography: Investigating Mountains (The Alps) and discovering Oceans (why do our oceans matter?) and asking would you like to live in the Mojave Desert?

Homework
To support learning at home, we use the Doodle app for Maths, Times tables, English and Spelling practice. Children are encouraged to complete their tasks online to reinforce classroom learning in a fun and interactive way.
