Children's Mental Health Week with Place2Be 2026
Severnbanks School Council worked hard to arrange fun experiences and activities to promote positive mental health and wellbeing following some of the 10 Keys to Happier Living. This year’s theme was ‘This is our place’. Take a look at how we spent the week practising ways to support our wellbeing which we can continue all year round!
Monday (MEANING: Be part of something bigger): To show we are all unique and wonderful, we took part in a fun free dress day where we came into school dressed as whatever we wanted to be.
Tuesday (EXERCISING: Take care of your body): The whole school took part in a ‘Flash Dance’ where we got our groove on to well-known songs. Exercise has been proven to trigger endorphins which reduce anxiety and improve sleep, helping to regulate emotions.
Wednesday (TRYING OUT: Keep learning new things): Everyone contributed to a whole-school art activity.
Thursday (AWARENESS: Live life mindfully): We chose from different mindful activities from mindful eating, reconnecting with nature, and even meditation.
Friday (GIVING: Do king things for others): Severnbanks School Council held a cake sale to raise money for the charity ‘Place2Be’ who support children and young people who are struggling with their mental health.
