Admisisons for EYFS

Choosing the right school for your child is one of the most important decisions a parent can make. At Severnbanks, we understand the significance of this choice and are committed to providing a nurturing, inspiring, and supportive environment where every child can thrive

Our school focuses on quality learning, personal growth, and a strong sense of community. We offer a wide range of opportunities—both inside and outside the classroom—to help pupils develop confidence, creativity, and a lifelong love of learning.

We invite prospective parents to visit our school, meet our dedicated staff, and experience the welcoming atmosphere that makes Severnbanks special. Choosing the right school sets the foundation for your child’s future, and at Severnbanks, we aim to make that foundation strong, supportive, and full of possibilities.

What did OFSTED say about the EYFS provision at Severnbanks:  Children are well cared for. They form positive and nurturing relationships with staff. They settle happily and quickly as a result of the clear routines and expectations. The early years curriculum is ambitious and well sequencedThrough carefully chosen experiences, including stories, rhymes and songs, children develop the language, knowledge and skills they need to achieve well and prepare for the expectations of Year 1 and beyond. Children learn through play indoors and outdoors. For example, they work collaboratively in the classroom completing jigsaw puzzles or learning through play, while well-planned outdoor provision strengthens children's balance and coordination through purposeful physical activities.

Admission to EYFS for September 2027

n Gloucestershire children can start primary school, if their parents wish, in the September of the school year in which they become five. For children due to start in September 2027 the child's date of birth falls between 1 September 2022 and 31 August 2023. The school year starts on 1 September.

Applications must be made to Gloucestershire County Council for every child stating school in September 2027.

Parents can apply online 24 hours a day, seven days a week from November until midnight on 15 January or by completing a paper form which can be downloaded from Gloucestershire County Council School Admissions webpage, or requested from the County Council's Co-ordinated Admissions Team on 01452 425407.

Parents are encouraged to list five preferred schools on their form as school places cannot be guaranteed. Failing to list all five preferences, regardless of sibling links, could lead to children being allocated school places parents would not have listed.

Full information on the admissions process is available online using the links below. It is important for parents to read this information before applying for a school place.
